Security Awareness Program
Since 2011, BISD has been very consistently active in giving talks and exhibitions on security awareness to members of the public with the cooperation of other Government agencies including schools and higher education institutions.
In the promotion of Security Awareness, the Security Awareness Education Unit (UPKK), BISD was given the mandate to share information regarding threats that could compromise national security and introduces the 133 BISD hotline to all segments of society. This initiative has also strengthened BISD’s capability to ensure safety dan maintain peace through a whole-of-nation approach.
Meanwhile, BISD is also involved as a strategic partner of the Ministry of Education in a programme organized by the ministry – G.I.N.I.S (Responsible, Good Values, Nasionalism, Intelectual and Stability). This programme is organized every year and involves Year 7 and Year 9 students from Secondary Schools nationwide including Colleges and Yayasan Secondary School. The purpose of conducting this programme is to assist youngsters especially students in educating and instilling moral values in dealing with social issues.
BISD also receives invitations from higher education institutions to give talks on security awareness especially during orientation weeks for new students intakes like KUPU SB, UNISSA and IBTE. Apart from this, invitations are received for programmes organized by other Government agencies like Programme Jati Diri, Programme PKBN and Civic Programme for graduates under Government Scholarships as well as invitations from Government Departments.
Through initiatives and proactive measures aimed at realizing Vision 2035, the JKDN will consistently cooperate and work hand-in-hand with the Government to maintain the peace and well-being of Brunei Darussalam. Security is the responsibility of all parties.
